Piano Moving in Fargo-Moorhead

Heavy, delicate and moved with the right gear.

Pianos are top-heavy, weigh several hundred pounds and hold their tuning best when they aren't jolted. Moving one takes planning, padding and a crew that has done it before. We measure the path, protect the finish and the floor, and set the piano where you want it. Pianos that aren't worth moving can be removed and disposed of.

What we do

Piano Services

How it works

How We Move a Piano

  1. Step one

    Measure the route.

Doorways, stairs and turns checked before move day.

  2. Step two

    Protect it.

Blankets, corner pads and straps wrap the case and keys.

  3. Step three

    Move on wheels.

A piano dolly carries the weight; stairs are taken slowly and controlled.

  4. Step four

    Place and settle.

Set against an inside wall away from heat vents.

Why us

A Piano Isn't a Couch

Tipping a piano the wrong way can crack the soundboard or damage the action. That's why we never treat it like regular furniture. Plan to have it tuned two to four weeks after the move, once it has settled into the room.

FAQ

Piano Moving Questions

Still have a question?

Text the crew a photo or a quick question.

Text (701) 566-9049

Can you move a piano up or down stairs?

Yes, for uprights and spinets with a clear path. We'll confirm after measuring.

Will my piano need tuning after the move?

Usually yes. Changes in temperature and humidity affect tuning more than the move itself.

Can you get rid of an old piano?

Yes. Most old pianos can't be donated, so they're disposed of or recycled for parts.

Other Heavy Items We Move
